QDNL is accelerating the Dutch quantum ecosystem by driving innovation, commercialisation, and talent development across the country. To further support this mission, we are looking for a Manager Industry Development to drive the mandate for all Industry Developers. This is a senior appointment that will carry budgetary, commercial and people management, that can identify opportunities that will deliver the industry vision of QDNL and the fund to translate quantum innovation into sustainable economic and societal impact.
You will operate at the intersection of cutting-edge technology, entrepreneurship and public-private collaboration, working closely with startups, scale-ups, corporates, knowledge institutions and government partners. Regular interaction with the QDNL hubs (Delft, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Enschede, Leiden) and the broader ecosystem is expected.
🔎 Your Role
You bring gravitas, credibility and a strong network across government, industry and knowledge institutes. You know how to enable your network, make decisions and translate academic and industry opportunities into tangible propositions for both industry and investors.
You will be managing a growing team of Industry Developers and Hub Manager (c.a. 4 FTE’s at present) and as such be accountable for the team’s performance, budget and deliverables. In conjunction with the Director of Industry, you will deliver the industry vision for quantum in the Netherlands and provide regular reporting for the division for review by our external stakeholders.
🎓 Required Qualifications & Skills
For this role, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications and skills. You do not need to meet every requirement listed, but you should match the majority of them:
MBA or 12+ years of corporate/entrepreneurial experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business/industry/corporate development team management.
Sector knowledge or -experience in the finance, defence, energy or aerospace industry, and affinity with high-tech innovation and/or quantum technology is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, with a proven ability to work effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders across public and private domains. Fluent Dutch language skills are preferred but not required.

Business Judgment: Strong strategic and analytical skills to assess market/commercial potential of the innovations by quantum technology in the and translate them into actionable initiatives.
Communication & Negotiation: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences (directors, risk managers professors, program managers, patent attorneys, IP managers, business developers) and build trust that align interests across organizations and sectors.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive, self-starter approach to effectively partner in a dynamic environment with stakeholders in the financial services industry from different backgrounds, disciplines and institutions.
Pragmatic & Results Driven: Able to move seamlessly between strategy and execution, translate mission targets in tangible actions and deliver on results with the team.

🔎 Selection Process
The screening of CVs and motivation letters will take place on a rolling basis. Candidates who are selected will be invited for an interview. Those progressing to the next stage will be invited for a second interview with members of the QDNL board and/or core team.
